Research Interests
My laboratory adopts an interdisciplinary methodology to uncover the therapeutic potential of traditional Chinese medicine in cancer treatment. By harmoniously merging enzymology, biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, and computational biology, we provide a robust platform to investigate the efficacy of bioactive ingredients derived from traditional Chinese medicine. My specialized knowledge delves deep into the realms of biomolecular interactions, structure-based drug design, computational biology, and the intricate processes of DNA/RNA metabolism and biogenesis.
I am adept at creating pioneering drugs from a spectrum of sources, such as natural extracts, peptides, and antibodies, with a particular emphasis on targeting critical cancer-associated proteins like KRAS, METTL3, and RIPK1. Beyond this, I am fervently involved in studying RNA processing proteins, RNA binding proteins, and the expansive world of non-coding RNAs. This rigorous research is not only geared toward identifying novel drug targets for cancer but also potential markers for neurodegenerative conditions.
Dr. SONG’s team is on the lookout for budding researchers passionate about our molecular pharmacology projects. For more information, kindly reach out to Dr. Song at hesong@um.edu.mo.
