Executive Director Chen Ke from The Innovation journal, along with his team of four, visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) at the University of Macau (UM) on September 25, 2024, for an exchange.
During the visit, Researcher Chen Ke provided a detailed overview of the current international journal landscape and the urgency of establishing independent journals domestically. He then introduced the development history of The Innovation journal and shared successful experiences in journal operation. The team also showcased the journal’s broad academic coverage.
Prof. Chen Xin, Director of ICMS and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, presented the research facilities and latest scientific achievements of the institute, focusing on innovative research in the field of traditional Chinese medicine to the guests. UM Vice President, Prof Ge Wet also met with the editorial team of the journal to explore potential areas of collaboration.
The Innovation currently boasts an impact factor of 33.2, and is one of the leading multidisciplinary journals worldwide. Notably, Dr. Ouyang Defang from our institute became the first scholar from UM to publish a research paper in this journal.
