Professor Li Tian, head of key disciplines at the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, led a delegation to visit the University of Macau on 21st August 2024. They were warmly received by the Rector of the University of Macau, Yonghua Song.
Rector Song mentioned that the University of Macau and the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine have a long history of cooperation. They have collaborated in various areas such as teaching and education, technology research and development, clinical research, and industrial transformation, and have achieved significant progress. As a public university, the University of Macau has invested heavily in the establishment of the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, the Stake Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, and the Chinese Medicine Testing Center, in line with the Macau SAR government’s initiative to actively promote traditional Chinese medicine. Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, being one of the earliest traditional Chinese medicine universities in China, has distinct advantages in the preservation and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine. Notably, the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine possesses valuable clinical research resources in traditional Chinese medicine. It is hoped that the University of Macau can further enhance and broaden its collaboration and exchanges with the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to jointly advance the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
The delegation also visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences. Professor Xin Chen, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, introduced the construction of the institute and the National Key Laboratory to the delegation, especially the progress in subject innovation and research focus. Professor Li Zhou, deputy director of the Department of Otolaryngology of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a member of the delegation, introduced the scientific research situation of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its Department of Otolaryngology. The two parties, with a shared vision of advancing traditional Chinese medicine, explored the potential of cooperation in the treatment of inflammatory reactions and the development of innovative products, paving the way for a promising future of collaboration.
