Established in 2002, the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) is an academic centre of excellence in Chinese medicine as well as biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, as well as SPF Laboratory Animal Centre. ICMS invites applications for position of Research Assistant. Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the management and safety of laboratory animal centre;
2. Maintain the laboratory environment & safety ;
3. Assist in keep the laboratory animals’ welfare;
4. Assist for the diagnosis and treatment for laboratory animal;
5. Assist in equipment use and training for laboratory users;
6. Assist in other laboratory-related activities.

Initial appointment is up to 12 months with a possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and mutual agreement.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above, in Veterinary, Life Technology, Medical Technology, Life Science, Pharmaceutics or related disciplines;
2. Fresh graduates are welcome;
3. Experience in animal experiments and management is preferred;
4. Relevant research or working experience would be an advantage;
5. Responsible, motivated and initiative personality
6. Good command of English and Chinese;
7. Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment;
8. Willing to take challenges and able to work under pressure.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible.
