On March 19, 2025, Dr. Wai San Cheang, Assistant Director of the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) at the University of Macau, participated in the latest “Tea with Professors” academic and career guidance session organized by the Career Development Centre of Student Affairs Office, where she gathered for tea with students. She provided guidance and advice on further studies and career opportunities to undergraduate and postgraduate students majoring in Biomedical Sciences, Medicinal Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, and Bioinformatics.
During the event, Dr. Cheang engaged students in face-to-face discussions with students, sharing valuable academic and career development insights based on her extensive experience in the field of pharmaceutical research. She elaborated on the diverse development paths in the field of biomedical sciences and traditional Chinese medicinal sciences, analyzed the employment prospects in related professions in light of the development trends in Macau’s Big Health industry, and provided professional guidance on students’ concerns such as enhancing research capabilities, selecting graduate courses, and choosing internship opportunities. Dr. Cheang encouraged students to take full advantage of ICMS’s resources and faculty expertise when planning their academic and professional trajectories.
