On July 3, 2024, Prof. Lu Zhao, Prof. Wenjing Yuan, and a delegation of 23 students from the School of Pharmacy, Zhejiang University, visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (SKL-QRCM) at the University of Macau for an exchange visit. They were warmly received by Prof. Jiahong Lu, Deputy Director of ICMS, Prof. Jinjian Lu, Assistant Director of ICMS and PhD Programme Director, Prof. Ligen Lin, Associate Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Prof. Carolina Oi Lam Ung, Deputy Director of Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, University of Macau.

Both parties introduced their respective institutions, including the organizational structure, research achievements and curriculum offerings. The professors from ICMS shared their research accomplishments, covering areas such as the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, quality control of Chinese medicine, and tumor immunotherapy. The delegation then had the opportunity to tour ICMS and SKL-QRCM.

During the visit, a student academic exchange session was arranged, where more than 10 student representatives from both parties delivered oral presentations on their respective research topics. Lastly, student representatives from ICMS shared their research directions and experiences in student life. Both parties had in-depth discussions on academic planning, career development, and student life at the university.

The successful organization of this exchange event established an important bridge for deep collaboration and communication between the two institutes. Both parties will further strengthen their cooperation to promote the development and inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine, making positive contributions to cultivating outstanding talents in pharmacy and traditional Chinese medicine. They looked forward to achieving fruitful outcomes in future collaborations between the two institutions.
