On June 7, 2024, a delegation led by Prof. Qiao Jie, Academician of Chinese academy of engineering, Executive Vice Deputy Director of Peking University Health Science Center, and President of Peking University Third Hospital, visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (SKLQRCM) at the University of Macau (UM). Li Wei, deputy head of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, National Health Commission (NHC), accompanied the visit.
The delegation members received a warm reception from Prof. Chen Xin, Director of ICMS and Director of SKLQRCM, Prof. Wang Ruibing, Director of Global Affairs Office, Prof. Li Peng, Deputy Director, Dr. Lu Jiahong, Deputy Director, Prof. Chen Xiuping, Assistant Director, Prof. Zheng Ying, and Dr. Wai San Cheang. The delegation visited the laboratories and core facilities within ICMS and engaged in discussions with representatives from ICMS.
During the discussions, Prof. Chen Xin introduced the overall situation and the latest research achievements of ICMS. Both sides had in-depth discussions on how to strengthen cooperation in the field of medicine and healthcare, particularly through joint research projects and personnel exchanges. Both parties expressed their desire to deepen cooperation, leverage their respective strengths, achieve complementary advantages, and utilize technological innovation to promote high-quality development in their collaboration.
