A delegation from the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (SKLQRCM) at the University of Macau (UM) on May 7, 2024. IPIM Executive Director Sam Lei led the delegation to meet with Prof. Xin Chen, Director of ICMS and Director of SKLQRCM, Prof. Yuanjia Hu, Professor of ICMS, and Prof. Wai San Cheang, Assistant Professor of ICMS to have in-depth discussions on matters related to the one-stop service provided by IPIM and the industry-academia-research collaboration at UM.
To promote and implement the construction of the “1+4” industries, IPIM promotes the business co-operations and to assist investors to set up companies in Macao through the Investor’s “One-Stop Service”. They have established representative offices in six cities, including Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, and Wuhan, to provide local services. ICMS is dedicated to addressing key scientific and technological issues related to the quality evaluation of Chinese medicine, facilitating international exchanges for the research and development of Chinese medicine, and contributing to the development of the health industry. During the meeting, both parties discussed and exchanged views on promoting the technological research and transformation of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, industry-academia collaboration, and commercial registration, to promote the appropriately diversified development for Macao’s economy. Professor Chen also led the representatives from IPIM on a tour of the laboratories and core facilities of ICMS.
