UM-ICMS PhD students receive two prizes at national pharmaceutical conference

Two PhD students from the University of Macau (UM) Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), namely He Yuan and Gao Cheng, recently received a second prize in the postgraduate presentation category and an outstanding poster award at a national pharmaceutical conference. He received the prize for her research study titled ‘Size Effect of Curcumin Nanocrystals on Airway Mucosa Penetration, Lung Tissue Distribution and Pharmacokinetic Studies by Pulmonary Delivery’. Her paper was supervised by Prof Zhang Ying from the ICMS. Gao received the award for his research study titled ‘Macrophage Membrane Coated ROS-Responsive Nanoparticles for the Treatment of Atherosclerosis’. His paper was supervised by Dr Wang Ruibing and Prof Lee Ming Yuen from the ICMS. The event was organised by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
