On December 13, the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) at the University of Macau (UM) and the Dongguan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital signed a cooperation agreement and had in-depth discussions on promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.
Both sides extensively discussed the next steps in their cooperation plans and explored innovative collaboration models. Professor Chen Xin, Director of ICMS, stated that since its establishment in 2002, the institute has made significant achievements in various areas such as traditional Chinese medicine quality research, the development of new traditional Chinese medicines, pharmacology of traditional Chinese medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine formulation. The cooperation agreement signed this time will lay a foundation for academic and cultural exchanges between the two institutions. They look forward to deepening cooperation with the Dongguan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, exploring new paths of inheritance and innovation in traditional Chinese medicine through resource sharing and complementing each other’s strengths.
The Dongguan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, founded in 1965, enjoys a prestigious reputation in Dongguan and even across southern China. Prof. Ye Guohua, Party Secretary of Dongguan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, expressed eager anticipation for this cooperation, hoping that through enhanced academic exchanges, talent cultivation, research cooperation, and technology transfer in the future, the collaboration will inject new vitality and momentum into the development of traditional Chinese medicine.
