On December 11th, the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research of Chinese Medicine (SKL-QRCM) at the University of Macau (UM) hosted the 3rd RAP Postdoc & MYS Seminar. The event was organized by the ICMS RAP Postdoc & MYS Studies Committee, aiming to enhance the academic research capabilities of and foster in-depth academic communication and collaboration among young scholars at the institute.

In his opening remarks, Professor Xin Chen, Director of ICMS and SKL-QRCM, emphasized the seminar’s goal of enhancing cooperation among researchers. He highlighted ICMS’s commitment to advancing innovation and development in Chinese medicinal research.

The seminar featured presentations from sixteen ICMS research assistant professors (RAPs), postdocs, and Macao Young Scholars (MYS) covering a diverse array of topics. Key areas of focus included therapeutic effects of Chinese medicine and underlying mechanisms in treating inflammation, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other diseases, regulatory science pertaining to Chinese medicine, quality research in Chinese medicine, and drug delivery systems and related research. Assistant professors from ICMS, Wai San Cheang, Chihua Li, He Song and Cheong Meng Chong, hosted different sessions of the seminar, respectively. During the Q&A sessions, the young scholars engaged in thought provoking discussions with the audience and received constructive feedback on their research topics.
